Merchandiser Overview
If you’re looking for a Merchandiser position within a lively, solid and growing fashion retailer, we have a new role that might be the one for you. The company are inspired by sportswear and streetwear and are looking for a Merchandiser to initially cover a 12 month maternity contract.
Merchandiser Responsibilities
- Prepare and present reports for weekly product trading meetings
- Suggest actions, highlight risks and opportunity to meet future needs of the business
- Investigate size ratios of product bought vs. product sold to improve the efficient of future orders
- Manage an Assistant Merchandiser and Merchandising Assistant
- Identify re-buys of best-selling styles, balanced with suggesting sales promotions on overstocked or slow-selling product
- Support with new launches and promotions
- Monitor sales by region
- Keep line details for all seasons up to date with any changes
- Work with the production team and senior merchandiser on target margins for both retail and wholesale
- Review any markdowns or sales promotions
- Have awareness of all factory shipment dates
Merchandiser Skills and Experience
- Experience with big volume flow lines and stock management of these lines
- An analytical and logical mindset
- Collaborate work approach
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience in WSSI management
- Hands on approach
