Garment Technologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Garment Technologist to join a highly successful fashion company, working across a diverse multiproduct range covering menswear, womenswear and childrenswear.
The Garment Technologist will focus predominantly on the fitting and sample stages, working closely with the wider Design and Technical teams to ensure garments achieve the required fit, construction, and quality standards.
Responsibilities of the Garment Technologist:
- Measure samples and assess fit, balance, construction, and overall quality.
- Attend fit sessions and provide clear and accurate fit comments.
- Review samples throughout the fitting process and ensure amendments are accurately communicated to factories.
- Liaise closely with overseas suppliers and factories regarding fit and technical amendments.
- Review revised samples to ensure fit comments have been actioned correctly.
- Work closely with Design and Technical teams to resolve fit and construction issues.
- Provide technical advice on garment construction, fit and measurements where required.
- Review and maintain size specifications and measurement charts throughout the fitting process.
- Support the sample approval process, ensuring garments meet the required fit and quality standards before progressing.
- Identify potential fit and construction issues and work proactively with factories to find suitable solutions.
Additional Information
The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Garment Technologist, with strong experience across fitting and sample development. Ideally, they will have exposure to multiple product categories, with an understanding of menswear, womenswear and childrenswear.
The role would suit a Garment Technologist who is confident attending fit sessions, writing clear fit comments and working closely with factories to ensure amendments are carried through accurately.
