Fashion Merchandiser Overview

We’re working with a highly successful online fashion brand who are keen to find a commercially driven, highly organised Fashion Merchandiser to join their dynamic team.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of the product journey from initial range planning and development through to pricing, production, launch and in-season trading.

You’ll combine a sharp commercial eye with strong analytical skills, keeping products on track, maximising sales and margin, and spotting opportunities to improve performance.

Fashion Merchandiser Responsibilities

  • Support seasonal and ongoing range planning, ensuring our product offering aligns with brand strategy and commercial targets.
  • Analyse sales, customer behaviour, market trends and previous performance to shape range decisions.
  • Build and maintain range plans, option plans, WSSI and sales and stock forecasts, as required.
  • Monitor performance by style, category and collection, identifying bestsellers, slow movers and emerging opportunities.
  • Make commercially focused recommendations to maximise sales, margin and stock availability.
  • Own the critical path from product sign-off through to delivery and online launch.
  • Manage key milestones across sampling, approvals, production, fabric and trims, purchase orders, shipping and delivery.
  • Work closely with suppliers and factories on costs, quantities, production updates and delivery dates.
  • Review supplier costs, negotiate where appropriate and protect target margins.
  • Support price changes, promotions, markdowns and clearance activity to maximise profitability and manage stock effectively.
  • Partner with the E-commerce team to ensure every product is ready for a smooth, timely online launch.
  • Analyse weekly and monthly sales and stock performance.
  • Track key KPIs, including sales, sell-through, gross margin, stock cover, intake and markdown.
  • Use trading performance to inform future range planning and commercial decisions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Design, Buying, Production, E-commerce, Marketing, Finance and Operations.

Additional Information

You’ll have previous experience in fashion merchandising, ideally within an online or e-commerce fashion business, and a strong understanding of the full product lifecycle, and be Commercially minded with excellent analytical skills and a drive to succeed.
