General Manager Overview
Our successful, global client is a denim specialist manufacturer, supplying to renowned European customers, and is looking to open up a new office in London, and first recruiting a General Manager for this.
Their customers include the likes of Kiabi, Warner, Bestseller, Zara, Pull & Bear, Lindex, Tchibo and experience working with a handful of these customers is essential.
You will have an entrepreneurial spirit and a commercial eye, with a strong understanding of the buying, design and sales process. The manufacturing is out of Bangladesh, where they also have an office with design and merchandising who you’ll be working closely with, working on all genders.
General Manager Overview responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Source new office space, negotiating contracts and setting up processes and accounts
- Thorough market research and identifying opportunities and gaps in the market
- Be the point of contact for the Buyers within the European customers, keeping engaged with them and updated
- In depth trend research
- Develop long-term strategies for the company
- Build a team in the office
- Sourcing, product development and building ranges for the customers to present in meetings
- Generate new business leads
- Full responsibility for P&L
- Negotiate costings with the buyers to achieve the best margins
General Manager Skills and Experience
- Happy to travel when necessary to European customers and to the Far East
- A specialism in denim is essential
- High level of commercial acumen
