Sealer / Grader Role Overview

A London-based ladieswear fast fashion supplier is seeking a Sealer / Grader to join their technical team. This role is central to ensuring womenswear garments are technically accurate, correctly sized, and ready for production across a variety of categories. The successful candidate will work closely with design and production teams to deliver collections efficiently while maintaining high standards of fit, quality, and technical integrity.

Sealer / Grader Responsibilities

  • Finalise patterns to production-ready standards, ensuring all construction, measurements, and technical details are correct.
  • Apply grading to patterns across all sizes, preserving fit, proportions, and garment integrity throughout the size range.
  • Produce detailed tech packs and specification documents, including size charts, production notes, seam allowances, and garment construction guidance.
  • Prepare and maintain Excel-based workbooks to support production accuracy and communicate sizing, grading, and technical information clearly.
  • Interpret design and tech pack information, translating it into workable patterns and production-ready garments that meet both design intent and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Participate in fit sessions to assess prototypes, recommend adjustments for fit, sizing, and construction, and implement changes as required.
  • Incorporate customer or client feedback into final patterns and documentation for approval.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks prior to production to ensure all garments meet technical and aesthetic standards and to prevent errors or delays.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and technical colleagues to maintain clarity, consistency, and accuracy throughout the development process.
  • Manage multiple styles at different stages of development, prioritising workloads and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for technical drawings and Microsoft Excel for grading charts, size specifications, and production documentation.
  • Proven experience across a wide range of womenswear categories.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Professional, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrates leadership potential and takes ownership of projects.
