Product Developer – Overview 

We are working with a growing apparel supplier who are looking to appoint a Product Developer to join their team. This role will focus on developing licensed and branded products for well-known football clubs and sports brands, managing the development process from initial CAD through to approved samples ready for production.

This position would suit someone who is organised, detail-focused and confident managing multiple developments at once, with strong CAD and technical knowledge within apparel product development.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop apparel products from initial CADs provided by customers through to final sample approval
  • Use CADs to help build and plan product ranges
  • Create detailed tech packs including garment specifications, fabrics, trims and branding details
  • Source and confirm product components such as fabrics, labels, zips, logos and colourways
  • Liaise directly with factories to brief new developments and manage the sampling process
  • Communicate sample comments and amendments clearly to suppliers to ensure accurate revisions
  • Negotiate cost prices with factories while maintaining required quality standards
  • Manage the development critical path to ensure samples, lab dips and approvals are completed on time
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, providing updates and coordinating approvals
  • Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure products move smoothly into production

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Product Development role within apparel or fashion
  • CAD literate with experience working from garment CADs
  • Experience creating detailed tech packs for factories
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics and trims
  • Experience liaising with overseas factories and managing the sampling process
  • Ability to manage development critical paths and keep projects on schedule
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers, customers and internal teams
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines at once
